Ignazio Cassis, Bundesrat

It was our immense pleasure and honor to welcome the Foreign Minister of Switzerland, Federal Councillor Ignazio Cassis to one of our October events in Zurich. Federal Councillor Cassis responded to the questions of the co-hosts Catharina Peyer and Kay Bucher as well as the over 70 participants and addressed topics and aspects of his life, of Swiss politics and foreign policy, and of global trends and developments.

The exchange was fascinating by the breadth and depth of the insights, and the openness of the discussion. We were touched by the fact that a member of the Swiss government spent a full evening to meet, discuss and debate with the young generation.

We took a lot of impressions from the evening, including the key messages: To take destiny in our own hands, and that freedom requires personal engagement and self-responsibility.
