Social Project: Wild Bees

Monday, July 1, 2019 19:00, Meeting Point: Tram Stop Haldenegg

Dear Rotaractors, friends and guests,

This is the replacement date for the wild bee event, which we had to cancel already several times due to the bad weather:

Learn about the wild cousins of the wellknown honey bees which have an even bigger role in pollination and in preserving the whole food chain. Today many species are endangered and wildbees are starting to lack in fruit plantations and local gardens.

We will meet the ETH Spinoff Wildbiene+Partner, who have an inventive business model to contribute to the preservation of wild bees. A network of sleeping bees and crowd breeding... you'll be surprised!

You will also see what each one of us can do to preserve wildbees, even in city centers!

Make sure not to wear your most expensive clothes as part of the event is hands-on: We are creating a bee paradise!

Please also note that again this event might be postponed / cancelled on a short notice if the weather is bad, since the wild bees only fly if it is sunny, we will announce this in our chat.
Let's hope that the weather will finally be nice!!!!!

Bee ;) there!

Tom
Social Officer

Important : Wild bees do not sting and are not attracted by sugar (as opposed to their honey cousins) so don't be scared!
