Dear Rotaractors, friends and guests,
The same as during the last years, we will also participate this year in the “Beschenk die Unbeschenkten” initiative (translates to: “give a gift to those who do not receive gifts”). We will collect Christmas presents for homeless people and other people in need, wrap them nicely and then give them the presents before Christmas.
For this, we should already now start to collect some presents. What presents are needed?:
- Warm winter clothes (especially for men)
- Sleeping bags and blankets
- Shower gel, shampoo and soap (both travel size and regular size)
- Salt & pepper
- Candles
- Lighters, matches
- Nice tea/coffee mugs
- Guetzli (Christmas cookies) or chocolate
It would be great if you could collect some gifts from yourself, family and friends. Deadline for this is December 4th 2018.
Nicely, Caroline has offered to allow us do the gift wrapping at her place. We will meet at 18h in front of the entrance of Bahnhof Stadelhofen and then walk to her place. Whoever wants to join later, please come directly to her home (please ask for address).
Please indicate in the Doodle if you would like to bring some presents (you can bring them on the 4th of December between 18:00 and 18:30 to our wrapping place or hand them over to someone of the wrapping team beforehand) and / or help wrapping the presents (starting from 18:15h).
If you participate in the gift wrapping, you will be attributed half a social point.
Afterwards, we will all go to the Christmas market at 19:30h for some nice Glühwein! Also, if you only want to participate in the Christmas market, but not in the gift wrapping, feel free to join later, it will be considered as a normal informal meeting.
Here again the plan for the day:
- 18h: meet at Bahnhof Stadelhofen (bring presents and paper, glue, bands etc. to wrap the presents)
- 18:15h: start wrapping at Caroline's place, whoever comes late can come directly to Caroline (please ask the address)
- 19:15h: finish wrapping and leave for Christmas Market
- 19:30h: meet in front of the Entrance of Coop City at Bellevue to go to the Christmas Market
